Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to have a sweet girl's weekend in Toronto with the gorg @torontoshay. We adventured through the city and I even hosted my first international pop-up. I'm big time now. Watch out. Kidding! It was so fun, and I can go on and on about all of the things that I love about Toronto, but I'll spare you. What I will rave about is our stay at the Shangri-La Hotel in downtown Toronto. You have not lived until you stay somewhere like the Shangri-La. Let me show you.The entire hotel smells like luxury and the inside of an 8 thousand dollar purse. There's gorgeous soft music playing, and you can walk around to find breathtaking couture pieces being displayed in large shadow boxes. The Shangri-La knows style. Not only do they know style, but they also know service. Valet is speedy and efficient. The front desk and their staff members are kind and incredibly helpful. These are all important things to note because let's be honest, regardless of how nice a hotel is, if the service is terrible it's just not worth the stay. It's all in the details at the Shangri-La. From the stunning gold stitching on the pillows to the calming color combinations, they don't miss a beat. The rooms are all spacious and cozy at the same time. The Shangri-La has both rooms and suites. There are the deluxe, premiere and executive options for rooms. For suites, they offer the one bedroom suite, one bedroom deluxe suite, specialty suite, owner's suite, and of course the Shangri-La suite. You can find info on the rooms and suites here. Now we get to my favorite part of our stay at the Shangri-La. THE SPA! Okay, confession. I've never been to a spa, nor have I ever gotten a spa treatment. I'm so funny about people touching my face and well, you know how that goes. @torontoshay asked me if I'd be up for a spa treatment at the Shangri-La's Miraj Hammam Spa, and I figured, 'what the heck? why not?' It was the best experience I've ever had. We had the Hammam Spa treatment, or as some may know it, a Turkish bath. This consists of a sauna and a rich exfoliating process.I would now like a spa treatment once a day please and thank you. I wish. But seriously, this was such a treat. If you go here I highly recommend the Turkish bath. It's one of the most calming, vulnerable and whole cleansing experiences you'll ever have. You won't be disappointed. I promise!I can't write this post without talking about the B-Wall. If you head to the Grand Terrace on the third floor, you'll find the Bee Wall installation in partnership with Birks, Canada’s leading jeweler, and AlvéoleRichard Cooke, former general manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Toronto said in a 2015 article, “We believe strongly in sustainability, being environmentally responsible and using locally sourced ingredients and we look forward to offering guests inventive new dishes featuring our very own home-harvested honey.” Side note, I would like you all to know that these are the friendliest bees ever. I got SUPER close as you can see. So yes, some of the dishes the hotel serves contain their very own honey. Speaking of dishes the hotel serves. Let's talk about this incredible breakfast @torontoshay and I had at the Shangri-La's restaurant, Bosk.We had amazing coffee (I don't throw out that word to describe coffee often). Fresh fruit, avocado toast, waffles and hot sweet tea. A combination for the start of a perfect day. When you stay at the Shangri-La be sure to stop by the spa, grab some amazing food at their restaurant and go explore the gorgeous streets of Toronto. You'll thank @torontoshay and me later.A huge thank you to the Shangri-La Hotel for making our stay the best ever. I cannot wait to go back, and I can't wait to check out some of their other locations. Of course a special thank you to @torontoshay for always making Toronto a dream.xoDenisse
