Estate Planning with Trust & Will

Hey Friends!

This blog post is in partnership with Trust & Will. However, all opinions are my own.

I want to share something that’s been on my mind for months, and I’m SO GLAD that my family and I finally got the opportunity to do it. When my partner and I had our daughter, Olivia, we made many changes to the logistics of our family system. Putting things into place on paper, setting her up for the future, etc. But one of the things we hadn’t really thought of doing before Olivia was setting up an estate plan. If you’re like me, you might think “Well, I’m not incredibly wealthy and I don’t have a ton of assets. What do I need a will for?” You might also hear about the process and find that it can seem really intimidating. I’ve got you!

Setting up our estate plan through Trust & Will was both easy and enlightening. Everything is explained to you. You have experts available to help, and you can do it at your own pace. The questions being asked are so helpful. There’s a portion where they ask us who our pets will go to, and I honestly never thought of that! Who do we leave our good girl to in the event that something happens? There are so many small things that we don’t think of on a day to day. Things that will become questions that need to be answered when the time comes. I’m so glad we can leave our loved ones with all of the instructions that they need.

I look at the beautiful life we’ve built. My amazing family. The things we have that we’ve worked so hard for, and I think about someone having to make really difficult decisions about our personal lives if something were to happen. It’s not something that I would want for any of my loved ones, and it’s not a responsibility that I would want to leave our daughter.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’m always encouraging my community to build emotional generation wealth. To leave our legacy not just in the bank, but with the way we leave our lives set up after we are gone. This is a huge part of that. It’s something we’ll teach our daughter to do when the time comes, and it’s something I encourage all of you to do now. You don’t have to be a gazillionaire & you don’t have to own 2738 homes or a boat. You also don’t have to drop $2000+ on having someone do this for you on their time.

Let’s get into a few details! Trust & Will offers three different services; Will, Trust, & Probate. I also find that it’s very affordable in comparison to a lot of the other options out there. Everything is tailored to the laws in your state, and everything is explained very clearly. It’s just one question at a time. Which I personally found amazing because I’m easily overwhelmed by things that feel like major life decisions. Everything took Chase and me about an hour to set up. We were running after a toddler, so realistically, we could have done it all in about 30 minutes.

Another thing that I really love about Trust & Will is that they have so many resourceful articles on their website that answer questions I’ve never even thought of (CLICK HERE FOR THEIR BLOG). They take their education seriously, which I think we can all appreciate when a company really wants to ensure you make informed decisions.

Listen, I’m 32. I’ll be 33 in March. I’m young and relatively healthy, but I also can’t predict the future. The one thing I can do is secure it even after I’m gone. I encourage you to do the same. Check out Trust & Will here and let me know if you have any questions!
