Dream Living room with Sabai

*Before we jump in, please note that the new pieces mentioned below were gifted to me by Sabai

Hey Friends! Okay, so you may remember that a few years ago we got these sweet leather couches that I was really excited about. Long story short, they were not exciting after about a few months. The leather didn’t wear well, the material was NOT pet-friendly, and they were impossible to clean. Before looking for something new, we did try to get the cushions replaced. However, the process was EXPENSIVE and wasteful.

That’s okay because we were connected with Sabai and INSTANTLY fell in love. I’ll tell you a bit about them before I show you the gorg pieces I chose in detail. I will just start with my favorite thing about the brand. THEY ARE EARTH-FRIENDLY!! If you know me, you know that although I don’t live a 100% green life, I do try to make sustainable choices whenever I am presented with the opportunity.

Sustainability has become something that’s really important to me. But if we’re honest, sustainability often comes with a high price. At Sabai, the furniture is sustainably made, and AFFORDABLE. All of the furniture is made in a family-owned factory in High Point, North Carolina, where they are super passionate about providing living wages to their workers. Basically, my dream brand makes furniture. It was mean to be.

To start, we did The Essential Sofa. The sofa is $1,295 USD. Again, this was gifted to us, but when we were looking to purchase, this was actually a bit under our budget so it was PERFECT. There’s no toxic off-gassing. It’s made with FSC Certified wood and recycled & up-cycled fibers. There are actually quite a few options you can sort through when building your sofa. We opted for one with three cushions, but you can actually get one with a single long cushion.

Everything on this sofa is super flexible and comfortable. Funny enough, I was just telling Chase that it is wild how much time we’ve spent on the sofa in the short time we’ve had it, in comparison to how many times we sat on the leather. Which honestly, I can count on two hands and MAYBE a foot. Anyway, back to customizations!

There are 6 options to choose from when choosing the fabric and color you like. We went with recycled velvet. Those options are available in indigo, moss, mustard, seafoam, and dusty rose. We went with the Seafoam color. It’s so gorgeous. Aside from being beautiful, it’s made of 100% recycled water bottles. It’s inherently scratch and stain-resistant. BUT MY FAVORITE PART IS THAT WE CAN WASH THEM OR SPOT CLEAN THEM!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH. When you have a baby and a dog who drools a bucket a minute, this is KEY.

This particular style is also available in upcycled poly. It’s 100% Olefin. The material is a little firmer in comparison to the velvet, but it is also stain-resistant and easy to clean. The colors available are Oat, Moon, & Midnight. So pretty! In another life, I would have gotten the oat. But I don’t even trust myself to keep that clean. Lastly, you can choose a leg option! Natural legs, or dark brown legs. The dark brown was my favorite. It really compliments our floors.

Now I will say that keeping this clean has been super easy because this time around, Fern isn’t allowed up on our couches (don’t come for me, she has an expensive bed). However, there have been a few spots where she’s just rubbed her face or sprayed everyone with her excited snorts, and it was SO EASY TO CLEAN.

Now the sofa we got is perfect for us and the space we have to work with. However, there are other options like The Essential Sectional and The Essential Loveseat.

Most recently they launched The Essential Chair. This was such a perfect piece for our living space because it’s not a HUGE area where you can have a sofa, love seat, and multiple chairs. So usually you sacrifice aesthetics or comfort in small spaces. Here we were able to get it in the matching seafoam color and it worked out PERFECTLY. Please note the chair is only available in Indigo, Moss & Seafoam for the recycled velvet material. Oat and Moon in the upcycled Poly. We LOVE this chair and use it very often. It also doubles as a throne for Miss Olivia.

To finish our set, we opted for The Essential Ottoman. Though I love me a sectional, it just wasn’t the right choice for our limited space. We wanted something we could move around. So the versatility of the Ottoman was EVERYTHING for us.

Another thing we are really grateful for is how easy it was to set up. Chase, my husband, literally unboxed everything and put it together with ease. There are even instructions emailed to you prior to your pieces arriving so that you can have them on hand. And let’s just take a moment to celebrate how far they take earth-friendly. There aren’t a bunch of paper booklets for you to go through. You can view it all on your phone or preferred device.

Everything comes in easy to carry boxes, and it’s truly EASY to put together. I loved that we didn’t have to schedule delivery, or alter our schedules. It was one of the most convenient services we’ve ever experienced.

Ultimately, I’m so pleased with how everything turned out. These are comfortable, realistic for our family, and so easy to maintain. Not to mention (though I already did), that it’s a brand built on a beautiful ethos and of course, sustainable. ALSO IT’S FOUNDED BY TWO BADASS WOMEN!!!

I hope you guys enjoyed this little review. As always, I’ll be back in a few months with some updates. But so far, we are truly obsessed. Let me know if you have any questions!

xx
